~Singing in the car with the windows down and the wind blowing your hair around so it's nearly impossible to brush when you get home
~The smell of bug spray, and chlorine, and sunscreen and sunshine
~The kind of tired where your muscles ache and your skin is tingly from the sun well after dark and you fall into a happy sleep seconds after your head lands on a freshly-laundered, cool pillowcase
~That school's out, no looming projects feeling
~Fresh salsa and chips being an acceptable supper
~Lots of giggling girls sharing secrets at slumber parties
~Blooming hydrangeas
~A perfectly grilled cheeseburger, potato salad and watermelon for dessert
~Margarita, on the rocks, with salt. Lots of salt.
~Reading on the porch with a little breeze and a glass of sweet tea
~Writing first thing, early in the morning, right when the sun is rising. But other days ...
Sleeping in.
What's your prescription for a perfect summer?

Having my teacher husband home for the summer.
Cookouts with neighbors.
Seeing my girls enjoying the water as much as I did at their age.
Smores on our vacation.
Lori-love all these! I love how kids will hop in ice-cold water and swim until their lips are blue ... and keep swimming!
