Daylight Savings, Day Two

Chantilly Lace
Tonight at dinner someone said "A long, long time ago ..."

Then I started to sing "I can still remember how that music used to make me smile."

I know all the words to Don McLean's American Pie, so this went on for some time. Then I explained to my daughters the tragedy about which the song was written. Then when my husband couldn't immediately name The Big Bopper's big song, I was forced to sing Chantilly Lace. I know all those words, too.

Both my daughters looked at me as though they were seriously considering having me committed before I could make good on that promise to coordinate a flash mob at their respective schools.

Then as I was editing photos tonight, I thought the branches behind this pretty tulip blooming in my back yard looked an awful lot like Chantilly Lace had a pretty face and a ponytail, hangin' down.....

Obviously I still have some catching up to do on my sleep post-time change.

I know the Chantilly Lace song too...not really sure why...bc it was way before our time! What about "Teen Angel"? Do you know that one? :-)

Isn't Teen Angel the depressing one where someone is killed in a car crash? I do NOT know the words to that one because it's TOO SAD. I can, however, do "Earth Angel, Earth Angel ... will you be mine? My darling dear, love you all the time. I'm just a fool, a fool in love with you." I found listening to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack constantly back in the 80s much improved my lyric knowledge of Oldies.
